Turn Up for What?

This past weekend while food shopping, I mentioned to my husband that I was going to stop into the wine shop to grab a bottle of champagne and he grumbled at me. He said something about not needing a bottle of champagne since there wasn't anything to celebrate and I couldn't help but think that he was completely wrong. I won't even mention the fact that we will both be celebrating our 25th birthdays within the next 2 weeks (not that the bottle will last that long).

I believe that life requires champagne-for no good reason. I also believe that surviving each day-and thriving each day is cause enough for celebration when there are so many people in the world that have so much less than I do. I never want to live my life in such a way that I only drink champagne on select occasions. If I want to have a glass on a Monday night after yoga class-then I will have onel

My suggestion is to grab a bottle of champagne, rose, or prosecco and toast to yourself and your life! I'll be toasting to this post (my 100th!!)-I'm having a great time and hope to continue well into the future!

Recently, I've become obsessed with acquiring a two-tone watch! For a while now, I've been alternating between gold and silver jewelry on a regular basis and then I saw this watch on my girl crush, Taylor Sterling and suddenly the world made sense! I need a two-tone watch to tie my whole look together! I plan on purchasing one as a birthday gift to myself! 

The Best is Yet to Come-Weekend Preview

Here's a round up of what I hope to accomplish this weekend. We are all familiar with the quote, "A Sunday well spent brings a week of content"-THAT'S A LIE-I'm never happy to start off the week at the end of a great weekend, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying those 2.5 days!

Romper Room

My bedding is so boring! I have seen so many gorgeous images of plush, beautifully styled beds and I'm in the mood to update ours. Here's the problem: our bed does not only sleep two adults, it also sleeps two little maniacs known as dogs. Really, they're my furry children, and I adore them but they make it hard to have nice things, and nice bedding is one of those things they make it really hard to have. How do all those fur-parent bloggers have nice beds?!

For me, my main criteria when selecting bedding involves: can I wash it at home, is it cheap enough that I won't be upset if it's ruined, and does it hide black and  beige hair? Usually that criteria directs me to Target in a gray color scheme, but I want nice, crisp and WHITE!

Making Me Smile

A friend turned me onto the Jonathan Adler x Tom's collection and it's so cute! I grabbed this pair and I'm just waiting for the weather to catch up, can't wait to bust 'em out!

This California based sister duo has stolen my heart! I'm far more obsessed with them than any normal human should be-check them out on Instagram for a daily dose of cuteness!

The Spring 2014 Essie Resort collection has me daydreaming of warmer weather and al fresco lunches!  I just picked up Cocktails and Coconut -It's the perfect transition color. It's nude and shimmery, but doesn't scream, "Summer"!

Rhapsody in Blue

For quite a while, I've been a black-and-white-no-color kind of gal, but the color blue has been quietly growing on me and I'm really ready to bring more of it into my life as the weather warms up. Sadly, we are back to below freezing temperatures with a light dusting of snow and I am so happy to lose myself in these images!

Coach Sandals

I was clicking around on The Glitter Guide and saw an ad in the corner for the Lexey Heel  and I was pleasantly surprised once I visited the website, all of their shoes are gorgeous.  While there are many many shoes that I've fallen in love with in my life, I can honestly see myself breaking these out on a regular basis, or even strapping them on for work. They're priced higher than my usual shoe budget, but they look like quality pieces that I could wear for seasons to come!   

Monday Must-Haves-New Couch

Yesterday, I told my husband that it's just about time for a new couch, and he was not pleased. We purchased our current couch in September 2012, so I fully understand where he is coming from. However, we need a new couch. Ours has a chewed up arm on one side and a hole in one of the cushions, courtesy of Ms. Piglet. I'm pulling inspiration for whenever the day comes that he relents and purchases a new couch!

Sex and the City premiered in 1998 and I still find my self influence by Carrie (and Sarah Jessica Parker by extension). This past weekend, Sarah Jessica's SJP shoe collection was launched exclusively at Nordstrom and I am DYING  for a pair-specifically the Maud. I just feel that I need to own a pair of shoes designed by the woman who introduced me to Dior, Manolo, and Oscar!

Last week as I sat in a horrific 4 hour meeting searching for anything to free my mind, I discovered how awesome men's socks can be! I was about to start snapping pictures of the fine examples I saw on my coworkers but did not think my director would appreciate that behavior, so I promised myself that I would later pull some inspiration.

Monday Must-Haves: Light Hearted

You may have seen here and here that I finally  purchased a dresser to house my jewelry, clutches,  and sunglasses. I could not be more excited to have another area in my home to style, and somehow I found this dresser for $36, which really opens up the budget for me to fill and style it.  My first  move will be to secure a luxe lamp much like the ones below to place atop it-really I plan on grabbing two, because I can't possibly have mis-matched lamps in my bedroom!
