Sparkling All the Way . . .

When I was little, I decided to take my life into my own hands at the age of 4 and steal a "sparkle" from my Grandmother's house. Two weeks after telling everyone that I had a secret, my mother learned that I ripped down a solid crystal ball from the center of my grandmother's chandelier and she nearly killed me for it. This happens to be one of my favorite childhood stories and describes me perfectly. I will do ANYTHING for a good bit of sparkle, and the pieces I gathered below will perfectly satisfy my cravings  for some new jewels.

Monday Must-Haves: Gold

My entire apartment has been decorated in shades of black or white, with lots of silver and gray thrown in. Once it comes time to decorate for Christmas, everything switches over to gold and red, save for the furniture that is silver (my dining room table). Lately, I've found myself craving gold more than silver, not only in my house but in regards to my accessories and makeup. This could just be a seasonal desire, but we will see how I'm feeling once we enter the new year!

Holiday Tips

The tips that I'm referring to in my title have nothing to do with baking a spiral ham or removing red wine from your ivory tablecloth. I'm talking about the ones at the ends of your fingers that can make or break your entire look! As the proud owner of 70+ nail polishes, I am constantly on the hunt for new colors. I currently have 6 nail polishes in my possession that I've bought in the past 2 weeks and haven't yet used.
For me, the whole year is about sparkle and glitter, but once we make it to the holiday season and the rest of the world catches up with me and my like-minded sisters, I am on high alert for what are sure to be my favorite polishes. Right now, it's all about nails and I am a huge fan of nail art, but it feels childish when I see it on my own little nails. That being said, I leave the door wide open for glitter nail polishes of all types to sashay into my life! I've rounded up a few of my new favorites along with a couple that I already have in my arsenal.

Chanel's Blue Satin is an absolute staple for me, this is the polish that I had on when my husband proposed, so it will remain an all-time favorite!

I am completely obsessed with Dior's Diorific Vernis Jewel Duo, I LOVE the little round pots that they come!

I just grabbed this baby from CVS last week, can't wait to use it! (Essies Belugaria)

Same story here! (Essie's Toggle to the Top)

I received this baby in my first Julep box and I have it on now, it's perfectly subtle! (Julep's Candace)

I continue to search for these scented beauties from Revlon (Wild Violet shown).

Last week I stopped into the Tom Ford Boutique on Madison to drool and saw this baby and decided that I must have this color on my nails for Christmas morning! (Tom Ford's Carnal Red)

I've been coveting this Zoya Pixie Dust polish since Spring 2013 and I find myself still wanting it! (Zoya Pixie Dust in Godiva)

Holiday Gift Guide: For Him

I personally feel that any woman can shop for another, because there must be SOMETHING that we all connect on. However, I continue to struggle with shopping for the men in my life! Usually, I have to form a plan with their significant others in order to secure an anxiety-inducing gift that leaves me feeling certain that they won't like it. Having been with my husband for 6+ years now, I'm starting to get the hang of shopping for him! The other day, I stumbled upon Nordstrom's Gift Guide and found some really awesome pieces for him on there and thought I'd share.

Jon, be advised that some of these items may end up in your hands this Christmas morning!

Wednesday Words

Consider this mission accomplished! I plan to cover everything in glitter this month, does anyone have some body glitter left from 1998??

Monday Must-Haves: Trays

I'm just about to turn my apartment into a Christmas wonderland and soon I'll be forced to remove the pumpkin and gourd centerpiece on my coffee table, but I've really gotten used to the idea of having a small decorative element on there and now I find myself craving trays to wrangle remotes, coasters, candles, etc. While my table is perfectly round, I really want to incorporate a square tray to make it more visually interesting.

A couple weeks ago, a friend gifted me with a belated house warming present, which ended up being a white rectangular tray with a silver spruce on it! I'll be using this tray through Christmas before settling on my final piece!
