Pay Day Priorities II

Last night, we had a date night and went to the mall and to see Jurassic World. It came as a surprise to both of us that I LOVED the movie. If you haven't seen it, you definitely should, but be prepared to sit through the whole movie in a stage of anxiety.

We had a couple hours to kill before the movie started so we had dinner and did a bit of shopping. I grabbed a couple things, most notably the two pieces below. I'm quite happy with my purchases, which came in just under $95.

I stopped into the Coach store to check out their store redesign (which looks really high end and amazing) and happened upon these amulet earrings. For $60 I thought they were totally worth it and can't wait to wear them.
I ventured into Forever 21 (which was an absolute mad house) to score a cheapie outfit for 4th of July (unsuccessful) but I did find this (faux) leather quilted crossbody bag for about $30 on a shelf in the men's department and then invested 20 minutes on line at the register to purchase it. It looks and feels so much nicer than its price tag suggests, which I'm always a big fan of.

Weekend Wear

On Saturday night I met my friends for dinner and drinks at Egan & Sons in Montclair and they were kind enough to snap a few pics of my outfit. I won't lie to you, I was really feeling this outfit. I was comfortable and still felt dressed up a bit. I'm surprised to even write this, but this cargo vest has moonlighted as part of an Axl Rose costume and has been worn several times since as part of my everyday attire.

Lately

I'm generally not a warm weather person, Fall is my favorite, but I could not be more ready for higher temps. I'm sick of hearing everyone discuss how terrible the weather is, myself included. As a way to console myself, I've been shopping like crazy for spring pieces. What are you guys wanting/buying?

Current Cravings

Current Cravings

Right now, I am surviving by looking forward to the warmer weather and purchasing anything that I can to assist with shortening these last few winter days. For me, Spring is shaping up to be all about beauty, minimalist attire, a simple and affordable tote, and a collection of shoes that run the gamut in style.

Current Obsession-Brown Bagging

I saw these clutches on the Forever 21 Instagram sometime last week and loved them immediately but decided to be financially responsible and not order one. A bad day at work coupled with the onset of a cold prompted me to throw caution to the wind and order the white version (a big deal for me, considering black is an option). You really can't go wrong, it cost me $30 with regular shipping and arrived in 2 days, I'm a happy camper (and my cold is on the way out)!

BLKFRIDAY Haul

I started this black Friday with a $250 budget (spoiler alert, I spent $249). I was on the lookout for 3 specific items and I was able to get one of them for a great deal!
  • Clare V Flat Leopard Clutch
  • Daniel Wellington Watch
  • Illesteva Sunglasses
Below is a collection of the 4 items that I purchased, all on sale! I'm feeling good and now I just have to sit tight until they arrive (the horror)! If you've read this blog at all in the past few weeks, you've seen all of the below items on my wishlist minus the flats, so I'm proud of myself for sticking it out and purchasing items that I REALLY wanted (I tend to lose sight of the prize, so this is huge for me).

Keep reading below to see what I paid for everything and for a few other sales that are going on!

Forever 21 Coat Selections

I'm not really sure when this happened, but Forever 21 completely upped their outerwear game. I used to shop at F21 when it first came to the Garden State Plaza mall and then I stepped away for a bit to focus my attention on grownup, quality dressing. Well the joke's on me because they are now one of my favorite places to shop and I can't stop thinking about all that lost time. Below are 4 coats that I'm dying to own-POLL FOR THE GROUP-how ridiculous is it for me to buy 4 coats?? I mean, total they'd be around $200!

Another check in the Pro column for F21-all of their skincare and makeup is cruelty free and crazy affordable!

Under $40 Pick Me Ups

I have a bit of a shopping problem and I am always on the hunt for the next thing to add to my life collection. The funny thing about me is that if something is over $50, I have to really consider buying it-unless it happens to be a designer item that is on sale for $400 instead of $1900-then the rules don't apply. Even stranger still is the $41-49 price point-this is where I really gripe about what I'm getting for my money. If any of the below pieces were $50, I wouldn't look at them twice. For me, it's gotta be dirt cheap or crazy expensive (my husband has noted that I love extremes).

Under $40 Pick Me Ups

Forever 21 taupe shoes
These shoes look so much more expensive than their $24 price tag would suggest!

Forever 21 black wedge ankle booties
I could see myself wearing these all fall and winter long!

Bracelets bangle
I am LOVING the faux marble on this hinged bangle!

Pearl band ring
I have to admit that I already have this ring and wear it several times per week!

Sunglasses
I fell in love with these as soon as I saw them and their $17 price tag really sealed the deal for me!

Urban Decay metallic eyeshadow
You know that I've been DYING for the Naked 2 palette and the basics version would nicely satisfy my desire!

Vegan nail polish
Absolutely loving this shade and that it's vegan and 5 free!

Diptyque miniature candle
The most luxurious $30 you'll ever spend!

Beer bottle opener
So cheeky and cute and all for $7!

Women's Faux-Leather A-Line Skirts | Old Navy
I love me some leather and I've been wanting a leather skirt for quite some time now!

Wit Delight Puzzle Piece Shaped Candles 4ct Assorted
$13 for a 4pc puzzle candle set?! Heck YES!
